This is the second poem in the series for "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street."
Some ways to die
Are by gun, sword, and knife.
The weapon doesn’t kill the man,
The man does.
We are the enemies,
We are the weapon.
The matter of morality,
To us always comes second.
Do anything to survive,
Even at the cost of others.
When it comes down to me or you
You know we’re not sticking together.
Yes, we’ll be
Our own desolation.
The human race will continue
To spread destruction.
