Bird's Eye View

Today I decided on a non-rhyming poem, describing what a bird sees as it flies, and how small things can appear from high above.

It flew on feathers,
Riding the wind,
Surveying
The land beneath it.

Rivers no more
Than blue lines
Gushing through the land.

Structures and buildings
Moving by
In a blur.

Mountains capped in snow
Majestic ridges in the
Otherwise flat land.

Trees blend together
To create a
Green landscape.

It swoops lower,
Gliding through the air.
The landscape now detailed.

Flies to its nest,
And stays there for the night.
